Welcome to the official site for the Forest-PLUS Study Tour #2! This Study Tour will host a delegation from the Indian Ministry of Forestry to come to the United States for a two week exchange from June 23rd to July 5th, 2014. Delegates will meet with environmental professionals at US Government Agencies, Non-Profit Organizations, Think Tanks, Academia, and leaders in the Private Sector on the theories and practice of Integrated Ecosystem Management.

This Study Tour is being hosted as part of USAID’s Partnership for Land Use Science, or Forest-PLUS Program. Forest-PLUS is a 5-year project designed to strengthen India’s capacity to develop systems for forest carbon measurement and monitoring, conduct greenhouse gas inventories, and support the application of science and technology for improved and more cost-efficient management and monitoring systems. The project also helps to improve tools and capacity for land-use planning that reduces deforestation while also ensuring the rights and engagement of local and indigenous communities.

This site will contain important information for delegates, coordinators, and other interested parties. We will continue to post more detailed information including the schedule and logistics, intended destinations, further reading, and anything else that may be useful.
