1. What should I bring?

  • Valid Passport and Visa
  • Secondary Photo-Identification (Driver’s License, Voter ID card)
  • Insurance Documents
  • Medicines with prescriptions as needed
  • Camera (with batteries, extra memory, and battery charger)
  • Photocopy of your passport and tickets and visa
  • Flight Information: air-tickets
  • Accommodation Information
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes
  • Appropriate Clothing
  • Bathing suit (optional)

2. What kind of weather should I expect during the tour?

In late June and early July, Washington DC is typically warm and humid with a mixture of sunny and rainy days. Temperatures typically range from 67 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit ( 20 to 33 degrees Celsius).

Oregon is normally cooler than Washington DC, with temperatures ranging between 50 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, or 10 to 27 Celsius. Drizzly rain is common. Temperatures range broadly throughout the day, so layered clothing is suggested.

3. What are the luggage allowances?

International Flights – Delhi-Washington DC-Delhi

Delta Airlines
Checked Baggage – 1 bag 23 kgs
Carry-on Baggage – 1 bag – 8 kgs

Domestic Flights – Washington DC-Portland,OR-Washington DC

Checked Baggage: Participants will be allowed to check 1 bag that weighs 50 pounds (22.7 kg) or less and measures 62 inches (158 cm) (length + width + height) or less. The cost for the first piece of checked baggage will be borne by Tetra Tech. For additional luggage, participants will have the choice to pay an additional fee or store the luggage at Tetra Tech’s offices in Arlington while in Oregon.

Carry-on Baggage:  You are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item at no extra charge. Baggage may not exceed 45 linear inches (or 114 cm) in combined length, width and height, including any handles and wheels. Baggage must fit easily in the Carry-on Baggage Check (approximately 22″ x 14″ x 9″ or 56 x 35 x 23 cm), which is located near the check-in counters.

Approved Personal Items: 1 purse, briefcase, camera bag or diaper bag or 1 laptop computer (computers cannot be checked) or 1 item of a similar or smaller size to those listed above

Additional Approved Items:

The following items do not count as personal items (they’re freebies):

  • A jacket or umbrella
  • Food or drink purchased after clearing the security checkpoint Duty-free merchandise
  • Special items like strollers, child restraint seats or assistive devices such as wheelchairs or crutches

Please Note: Tetra Tech will pay for 1 check-in luggage; the cost of a second checked bag will be the responsibility of the participant to pay on his/her own.
